Greening: Hoping duo sign
Jonathan Greening believes West Bromwich Albion's pursuit of Borja Valero and Oscar Trejo is testament to the club's ambition.
Premier League new boys West Brom are closing in on the signing of Valero after the midfielder's club Real Mallorca confirmed receiving an offer.
The Baggies are also keen on Trejo, although reports suggest the striker would be happy to stay with Mallorca.
Greening is excited by the prospect of the two players moving to The Hawthorns and believes it is a positive sign for the club's future.
"These two players are very good," Greening told the Birmingham Mail. "It shows our ambition.
"The gaffer and chairman have been trying to get players in for a few weeks and been saying they want three or so players before the end of the transfer window.
"If we can get that calibre of player into the club then it can only help the club go forward and settle itself in the Premier League.
"With the extra two subs this year you need a big squad and people fighting for places, so the more players the better. It can only benefit us."
