Mowbray: Staying positive
West Brom boss Tony Mowbray praised his players' performance against Everton but says they need to work on the final third.
For the vast majority of the game, the Baggies dominated possession, but failed to provide that clinical final ball to lone striker Ishmael Miller.
The newly promoted side's lack of chances led to Everton snatching two goals against the run of play from Leon Osman and Yakubu - and Mowbray says their lack of experience killed his side off.
"I thought we were excellent today right through, we had a mad five minutes I think," he told Sky Sports.
"We generally controlled the football match, but maybe paid the lesson for their experience and that little bit of quality in the final third.
"I think we controlled the game for long, long spells and there were lots of very positive things for us similar to the last week in the fact that we didn't threaten their goal enough and I can't remember them having a shot other than their two goals."
A defensive error from new boy Abdoulaye Meite proved the decider with the West Brom boss describing it as "lower league quality".
But Mowbray says his side, who are yet to record a win in their first two Premier League games, will take the positives from the performance - which saw them claw back a consolation goal with a minute to spare, thanks to a Roman Bednar penalty.
"There were some fantastic performances out there today.
"To dominate a game that had an Everton team who were fifth in the Premiership last season, we should be feeling pretty confident we'll be okay this year," he added.
