West Bromwich Albion midfielder Felipe Teixeira is ready to make his comeback after six months on the sidelines.

Teixeira has been out of action since damaging his cruciate ligaments during a Championship game against Plymouth Argyle in early March.

He is now back in full training and Baggies boss Tony Mowbray has pencilled the Portuguese in to play for the reserves next Tuesday.

"He's champing at the bit," Mowbray told the club's official website. "He is telling me he is ready to play.

Shine bright

"I am saying to him there is a reserve game in a week's time, but I think he is hoping he is going to be involved in the first team as of this weekend.

"He is progressing now, he has trained fully and we are not looking after him anymore. He is in full-contact training.

"It's down to him now. He has got to shine bright enough to get back into the first team very, very quickly."

Meanwhile, Mowbray confirmed that defender Neil Clement is also edging nearer to a playing return following a knee injury.

The West Brom manager added: "He started running again on Monday.

"He saw a few specialists and was told to rest for a few weeks and started his rehabilitation this week really, regarding getting his boots on and getting back out on the grass.

"We have to see what develops with Clem really. His versatility is important to our squad."
