Scott Carson is not letting talk of a possible England recall affect him as he concentrates his efforts solely on West Bromich Albion.

The former Leeds and Liverpool goalkeeper has not played for his country since his mistake against Croatia proved critical in England's failed attempt to qualify for Euro 2008.

Carson has won praise for his displays at The Hawthorns since his arrival in the summer and has been touted for a return to the international fold.

For the moment though he is aiming to concentrate on his club football and let the international situation look after itself.

"To be honest I'm not really thinking about England," Carson told the Daily Mirror.

"My main priority is just to play well for West Bromwich. If England come knocking then it must be because I'm playing well for West Brom.

Baggies the priority

"Everybody keeps saying I am suffering a hangover and stuff like that.

"It was eight or 10 months ago. I want people just to let it go. I let it go the night after, but people just keep bringing it up."

Carson credits the most consistent form of his career to being settled in his new surrounds, having had a somewhat nomadic existence earlier in his career.

"I'm happy and I feel settled," he said. "For the past five years I've been up and down the country playing for different clubs.

"I've got a house here, my family are here and I got married in the summer to my wife Amy. We've got a little boy, Hayden, who has just started nursery, which again is all part of feeling settled."
