West Bromwich Albion defender Jonas Olsson admits the Premier League has tested his ability.

The centre-back joined the newly-promoted Baggies in August in an £800,000 move from Eredivisie outfit NEC Nijmegen.

And since arriving in England, Olsson - who netted West Brom's winner against Middlesbrough at the weekend - has noted the increase in quality.

But the Swede feels he possesses the necessary ability to succeed as the Baggies attempt to survive in the top flight.

"The quality in everything is a step higher here (in the Premier League)," Olsson told Sportbladet.

"You face really good players every week. You have got to be on your toes all the time, but I feel the physical style suits me."

Olsson was also delighted to open his West Brom account at The Riverside on Saturday.

"As a central defender, you don't score that many," added Olsson. "It wasn't the most beautiful, but it is always nice to score."
