Teixeira: On the comeback trail
West Brom boss Tony Mowbray is refusing to rush Felipe Teixeira back into his first-team fold.
The midfielder was hoping to be back in action in time for the Baggies' weekend clash with Hull, but that now looks unlikely.
The Portuguese star has not featured for the club since rupturing his cruciate ligament against Plymouth in March and is not yet ready to make his Premier League bow.
A midweek trip to Newcastle next week may also come too soon, with Mowbray believing Teixeira needs more time to work on his rehabilitation.
"Filipe's okay, we hope to have him back training today (Tuesday)," Mowbray told the Birmingham Mail.
"Last week wasn't a major problem, just a tightness in his calf and a little too soon for him.
"If he needs a few more days then we will wait and see.
"But Saturday will come too soon I would suggest, he probably needs another week's training.
"We may play him in the reserves tomorrow but we'll see."
Meanwhile, Gianni Zuiverloon is expected to shake off a minor knock picked up during Saturday's defeat at Manchester United in time to feature against Hull.
Mowbray also confirmed that Adoulaye Meite and Do-Heon Kim are making steady progress in their return from recent injuries.
"Meite is still getting treatment," added the Baggies boss.
"We hope to have him out on the pitch with the physios later this week.
"Kim has been running out in Korea so he's ahead of schedule but we're not getting too far ahead of ourselves because, as we saw with Filipe, you can steamroller ahead and then hit a brick wall and not be able to do anything for two weeks. But he's ahead of schedule and doing okay.
"Gianni wasn't in training, but he will be okay, and one or two others weren't risked yesterday.
"We have two big games coming up in a short period of time so it'll be a pretty low intensity week for us. We will just get ready for the next couple of days."
