West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Mowbray believes his team will benefit from some Premier League 'know-how' in January.

Mowbray's men have slipped to the bottom of the table after failing to build on a bright start to the season after promotion from the Championship.

The Baggies' squad is short on top-flight experience and it is an issue that Mowbray is keen to address when the transfer window reopens.

Mowbray has been generally satisfied with his side's performances this term and is hoping to improve his ranks in the New Year.

Keep believing

"I have been happy with the team," said Mowbray. "Whilst the league table doesn't look great at the moment, the points accrued (11) is okay for this time of the season.

"We had the scenario last week where Bolton might have been in the bottom three if they hadn't have won - but they did and jumped into the top half of the table.

"It is that sort of scenario we face. We are still in there. We are three points off mid-table and we've got to keep believing and keep going.

"I am personally enjoying watching my team play. A bit more know-how, someone who knows their way around the division at both ends of the field, to score more goals and to help the midfield defensively or to help in the back four, would be a great help to the side.

"We continue the search and hopefully in January we can strengthen our team and keep pushing on. But we have still got great belief in the group of players we've got that we can have a good season."
