Roman Bednar has urged the West Brom squad to 'stick together' after admitting the mood at The Hawthorns is 'not good'.

The Baggies have plummeted to the bottom of the Premier League table in recent weeks after picking up just one point from their last eight games.

But Czech Republic striker Bednar believes that one win could give West Brom the confidence needed to climb out of the relegation zone.

"Honestly, not good," Bednar told Denik Sport when asked what the mood in the camp is like at the moment.

"Arguing can be seen more often now, but I think we should stick together.

"That is normal, I guess, if you have won only one point out of the last eight matches. I believe that it will turn around, we just need to win and gain self-confidence."

Gamble

Bednar has been restricted to late substitute appearances in West Brom's last two games after manager Tony Mowbray ditched his 4-4-2 formation.

Mowbray had been keen to shore up the Baggies' leaky defence, but Bednar has called on his boss to go back to a more positive approach.

He added: "We are playing with one striker which is not good, in my opinion.

"For instance, at Stoke we did not have a single chance to score. It is rather odd.

"I would prefer to take the gamble and start playing more bravely, even at the cost that we might concede more goals."
