Morrison: Issues rallying cry
The gap is six points now and we can't let that get any bigger so we need a win on Sunday.
James Morrison believes West Brom can ill afford to drop any more points this season, starting with Manchester City on Sunday.
Tony Mowbray's Baggies are currently bottom of the Premier League having won just three of their 17 league games this term following promotion from the Championship.
The former Middlesbrough winger has admitted West Brom's struggles have lowered his mood ahead of the busy festive schedule.
The Hawthorns outfit entertain fellow strugglers Manchester City on Sunday and Morrison believes a three-point haul is a must if they are avoid falling further behind third-from-bottom Sunderland.
"I go home and I am miserable and I am desperate to get out of this trouble," said Morrison. "Hopefully, we can turn it around quickly.
"We need a win as soon as possible because that would bring belief and confidence to the team.
"The gap is six points now and we can't let that get any bigger so we need a win on Sunday.
"The manager is trying to keep us upbeat and keep us believing that we can get out of this spot of trouble.
"The key is that we have to learn how to win games. We have to be more cautious as well as we can be a bit gung ho at times.
"To concede two quick goals at Sunderland last weekend put us out of the game but we shouldn't let our heads drop and we should have a bit more fight really.
"We have to push ourselves along and get us out of this trouble."
