Defender Billy Jones admits he is happy to bide his time as he looks to break into the West Brom first-team.

The 24-year-old right-back is eager to prove he is ready for his top flight debut after joining from Preston on a free during the summer transfer window.

And now the youngster faces a fight to force his way into Roy Hodgson's first-choice defence.

Patient

However, Jones insists he is enjoying his time at the Hawthorns and told the club's official website: "I'm loving it here.

"When I signed I knew this was going to be the situation.

"It's a bit weird right now because in previous seasons in the Championship I would probably have played eight games by now.

"But I signed at West Brom knowing I would need to be patient for my chance in the Premier League

"I'm willing to do that. The style of play the gaffer wants us to play in the Premier League is totally different to the Championship.

"That took me a little while to get my head around to be honest. But now I know exactly what the gaffer wants from a Premier League full-back and hopefully I can show that.

"This is where I want to be - the Premier League."
