Edwards: Happy at Wolves
Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey is hopeful Sunderland will not bring Carlos Edwards' loan period at Molineux to a premature end.
Edwards signed a three-month deal with the Championship club at the beginning of October and has made six league appearances since the move.
However, Black Cats boss Roy Keane recently revealed he is considering recalling the Trinidad and Tobago winger in a bid to ease his side's injury troubles.
He said: "These are testing times but we do have the option of recalling Carlos or Anthony Stokes (at Sheffield United) after the weekend. I'll weigh up these things over the next few days."
But Moxey told the Express & Star: "(Wolves manager) Mick McCarthy has spoken to someone there and we're told we might be able to keep him longer. We'd hope to keep him for at least to the end of the loan period."
Edwards, 30, admitted he is happy in the Midlands but would heed Keane's call should the Sunderland chief require his services.
"I'm keen to stay but, at the same time, I'm contracted to Sunderland and until I hear any different, I'll be departing here after 28th December," he added.
