Christophe Berra is convinced Wolves will avoid relegation if they continue to play like they did against Manchester United.

Mick McCarthy's men acquitted themselves well against the Premier League champions for long periods on Saturday, holding firm at the back and pressing forward impressively.

However, they were left to rue several missed chances and one defensive lapse as a Paul Scholes goal sealed a 1-0 victory for United.

Wolves remain embroiled in a fierce scrap for survival ahead of their trip to fellow strugglers Burnley next weekend but defender Berra is taking the positives from the performance.

"We are not on a low," said the Scotland international.

"It is natural to be disappointed when you lose but we can take a lot of positives out of our performances.

"What we have to do now is turn the positives into points.

"If we keep playing as we are, maintain the same commitment and work just as hard, I am sure we will get a few results."

Nerves

Berra accepts that it is vital for Wolves to pick up three points at Turf Moor and start pulling clear of trouble.

"It will be a totally different game," he explained.

"There will be a bit of nerves but it will also be hell and belter because both teams will be going for it.

"Going away from home is always going to be hard but it is a game we know we can win.

"We can't just turn up. We have to earn a victory because they will think they have a great chance of one themselves.

"It is going to go right to the end for whoever wins the title and right to the end for whoever gets relegated as well."
