Jez Moxey is refusing to let Karl Henry's red card at Arsenal lie and feels top clubs have too much influence.

The Wolves chief executive feels Mick McCarthy's side were on the wrong end of a contentious decision during their 1-0 defeat at Emirates Stadium on 3rd April.

A crunching challenge from Henry on Gunners midfielder Tomas Rosicky saw the Wolves skipper dismissed, paving the way for the hosts to snatch a late winner.

Henry was also forced to sit out Sunday's 0-0 draw against Stoke as a result of the dismissal, with the Midlanders having chosen not to appeal the decision.

Moxey feels Wolves were punished by match officials too afraid of upsetting the Premier League elite, with Arsenal pressurising the referee into brandishing a red card.

Powerful

"Karl is a tough-tackling player but the fact that this was his first red card in 300 first-team appearances is an indication he plays within the laws," Moxey wrote in his programme notes ahead of the weekend stalemate with the Potters.

"Most managers try to place pressure on officials. When successful managers as powerful as Arsene Wenger speak, many people concur.

"So when Karl Henry of Premier League newcomers Wolves attempts to win the ball from Czech international Tomas Rosicky and probably fouls him, it's not surprising to see the reactions of the Arsenal players or of Arsene Wenger.

"Clearly, Rosicky is not injured. Henry's challenge was nothing more than a run-of-the-mill foul.

"We should all take exception to players surrounding officials, designed to pressurise a referee into making an unfair decision."
