Wolves have agreed a deal to sign striker Marcus Bent on loan from Premier League rivals Birmingham City.

Bent is out of the first-team picture at St Andrews and has not made a competitive appearance for Alex McLeish's side since April 2009.

He had loan spells at Middlesbrough and Queens Park Rangers last season and is now primed to move to Molineux until January.

After allowing Andy Keogh to join Cardiff City on loan last week, Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey admits the club's attacking options required reinforcement.

Experienced

"Marcus is an experienced striker who has played plenty of Premier League football and scored goals," Moxey told the club's official website.

"People still talk about whether we've got enough Premier League experience and Marcus will add to that.

"He's also a different type of striker to what we have in that he's a physical presence.

"We needed someone after the departure of Andy Keogh and Marcus can do a job for us."
