Aldershot booked a dream home date with Manchester United in the last 16 of the Carling Cup, while Liverpool face another tough trip Stoke.

Elsewhere, Manchester City will travel to Wolves, Chelsea take on Everton at Goodison Park and Arsenal host Bolton with all ties to be played in the week commencing 24th October.

Dean Holdsworth's League Two Aldershot overcame Rochdale to book their place in the fourth round for the first time in their history and the reward is to see defending Premier League champions United visit the Recreation Ground.

Liverpool have already lost at Stoke this season and, having taken the 2011/12 competition comparatively seriously to date, Kenny Dalglish would likely have preferred to avoid another trip to the Britannia Stadium.

Fourth-round draw in full:
Wolves v Manchester City
Cardiff v Burnley
Blackburn v Newcastle
Arsenal v Bolton
Stoke v Liverpool
Aldershot v Manchester United
Crystal Palace v Southampton
Everton v Chelsea

Arsenal meet Bolton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and they will also do battle in the Carling Cup at the end of October, City will be confident when they travel to Wolves, while Everton and Chelsea have yet again been drawn against one another in the cups.

Premier League rivals Blackburn and Newcastle will also meet at Ewood Park, with the latter having eliminated Nottingham Forest in a dramatic extra-time win on Tuesday.

Championship table-toppers Southampton have enjoyed an excellent start to the season and after knocking out Preston in midweek they will visit Crystal Palace, while Cardiff and Burnley will meet in Wales.
