Stoke City defender Andrew Davies is hoping to secure a return to Sheffield United when the transfer window reopens.

Davies has recently completed a three-month loan stint at Bramall Lane and he made eight appearances during his time with the Championship club.

Blades boss Kevin Blackwell has confirmed he would be keen to re-sign Davies, and a return is something which appeals to the former Southampton stopper.

The 25-year-old has struggled to make an impact at the Britannia Stadium due to injury and is willing to rejoin the Blades in the New Year.

Happy

"I'm happy at Stoke and I've been working hard in training in a bid to get back into the manager's plans," Davies told The Sentinel.

"But I enjoyed my time with Sheffield United and I thought I did well there. They are a great bunch of lads and if the chance arose, I'd like to go back.

"They are pushing for the Championship play-off places and I really enjoyed working with their manager, Kevin Blackwell.

"I want to play games, but unfortunately my career at Stoke has never got off the ground, mainly because of injuries."
