Ronnie Moore's new-look Oldham maintained their perfect start to the new season with a victory at Swindon.
The Latics took a 2-0 half time lead through defender Rob Scott and Andy Liddell before Liddell added his second on 51 minutes.
Swindon made Oldham work for the points though with Christian Roberts (79) and Tony Thorpe (85) replying for the Robins.
Walsall also made it two out of two following a dramatic 3-2 victory over Gary Megson's Nottingham Forest.
Kris Commons had put Forest in front on 36 minutes but two goals in two minutes from Walsall's Mark Wright (pictured) and Chris Westwood, on his debut, put the Saddlers in command.
Forest were reduced to 10 men following goalkeeper Rune Pedersen's dismissal in the 61st minute and Matt Fryatt made no mistake from the resulting penalty.
David Friio's effort on 85 proved no more than a consolation for the East Midlands side.
Lee Trundle netted the winner for Swansea who claimed a 2-1 victory at Colchester's Layer Road.
Adrian Forbes had put the Swans ahead ten minutes before the break only for Greg Halford to level the scores on 67.
Kenny Jackett's side had the last laugh, however, following Trundle's finish and have now taken maximum points from their two opening fixtures.
Scunthorpe came from behind to beat Barnsley and record their first victory in League One, despite Paul Hayes's goalscoring return to Glanford Park
Hayes had put the Tykes ahead early on, before Andy Crosby levelled from the penalty spot on 28 minutes with substitute Cleveland Taylor securing the victory on 71.
Southend bounced back from defeat against Port Vale on the opening day with a 2-0 victory over Bradford at Valley Parade.
David Wetherall put through his own net on the quarter-hour mark before City were reduced to ten men on the stroke of half time following Darren Holloway's sending-off.
Luke Guttridge wrapped up the victory for The Shrimpers on 62.
MK Dons grabbed a point at Doncaster's Belle Vue with Izale McLeod (74) equalising Paul Heffernan's effort on 66.
Lee Bullock scored his first goal for his new club but Hartlepool were unable to hold on to claim their first three point haul of the new season against Bournemouth.
Bullock had put Martin Scott's side ahead shortly after half time only for Dani Rodrigues's penalty to level the scores on 67.
Bristol City fell at the death to Huddersfield after defending stoutly for the majority of the second half following Luke Wilkshire's dismissal.
Pawel Abbott grabbed the headlines with his 89th minute winner for The Terriers to break the hearts of Brian Tinnion's men.
Tranmere drew 2-2 with Blackpool at Prenton Park but will be disappointed not to have taken all three points after twice taking the lead.
Iain Hume had put Rovers ahead on 18, Scott Vernon then equalised for Pool on 45 only for Chris Greenacre to repeat the trick almost immediately sending Brian Little's side in ahead at half time.
However Colin Hendry's side took a point with John Murphy's 69th minute equaliser.
Port Vale and Gillingham played out a goalless draw at Vale Park as did Yeovil and Rotherham at Huish Park.
