Skysports.com understands a number of sides are tracking Colchester United defender Marc Tierney.

Tierney has impressed this season, putting in a number of eye-catching performances for the League One hopefuls.

Scouts from Championship sides have been keeping tabs on Tierney and are monitoring his situation at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Tierney, who started his career at Oldham, has established himself as a key member of the Colchester side since signing permanently in January 2009 after a successful loan spell.

Colchester would be loath to lose Tierney and they are keen to keep the full-back as they look to maintain their push for promotion from League One this season.
