Sheffield Wednesday open their Championship campaign with a South Yorkshire derby against Barnsley at Hillsborough on Saturday, 8th August.

The Owls then travel to newly-promoted Peterborough for their first away match the following weekend and take on Newcastle at St James' Park in their first midweek clash three days later.

Manager Brian Laws' former club Scunthorpe visit Hillsborough on 22nd August, while the first Steel City derby is scheduled for Bramall Lane on 19th September.

Wednesday play the third of six local derbies in the Championship at Doncaster on 8th December and after a home clash with Newcastle on Boxing Day travel to Barnsley (16th January) and Scunthorpe (26th January) in successive matches.

Doncaster then visit Hillsborough on 16th February and the return against the Blades is in the penultimate home match (17th April).

The Owls then travel to Cardiff (24th April) before a final-day clash with Neil Warnock's Crystal Palace at Hillsborough on 2nd May.
