Sheffield Wednesday striker Clinton Morrison has admitted he let both himself and Owls fans down last season.

The 32-year-old scored 11 goals in 46 appearances for Wednesday during the last campaign after joining on a free transfer from Coventry.

On Monday he stepped off the bench to clinch Gary Megson's side a point at Charlton as he notched his second of the season. But Morrison told the club's official website: "I let down a lot of fans last year and I let down myself too.

"But hopefully this year I will achieve what I know I can and keep on going. I'm very passionate about my football and want nothing but success.

"I know if I show that kind of passion, like I have been doing, the fans will take to me because they are passionate supporters.

"If I keep working hard, I will keep getting my rewards by scoring goals for them."
