Purse happy at Cardiff

Darren Purse has rubbished speculation of a move away from Cardiff City in the summer.

The Bluebirds captain is rumoured to be the subject of interest from Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United.

However, with one year remaining on his contract at Ninian Park, Purse insists he is happy in his current surroundings.

"As far as I'm concerned, I have another year on my contract and I'll be playing for Cardiff next season," Purse told the South Wales Echo.

"I've been here two seasons now and love the place. I love the club and its supporters and I fully intend to stay here because I've enjoyed the whole experience.

"I want to stay and be part of a club that wants to go places. It didn't happen for us this season, but we will all learn from our experiences and go again."
