Fallon: Performances earn new contract
Plymouth Argyle are hopeful of successfully negotiating a new deal for striker Rory Fallon.
Defender Marcel Seip is the latest player to agree a contract extension with the Championship club, which will now run till 2011.
After securing Seip's deal all attention is now focused on thrashing out a contract extension for Fallon.
The player's current deal is set to run out in June next year, where he would become eligible for a Bosman free transfer.
The striker was brought to the club by former Pilgrims boss Ian Holloway for £300,000 from Swansea City but the 26-year-old failed to hit top form.
It was presumed that Fallon would leave Home Park when current boss Paul Sturrock took over for his second spell in charge but the former Swindon man has gone from strength to strength after deciding instead to stay and fight for his place.
Fallon has played a part in all 17 of the club's Championship matches so far this season, starting 13 and scoring four goals, making him Argyle's second top scorer.
Sturrock has been impressed with his striker and is confident that the player will stay with the Pilgrims.
He said: "We are in negotiations with Rory and his agent.
"Rory has been an influence to the team and I would like to think we could sort something out with him very quickly."
