MacLean: Time to move on
Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock is hoping to send strike duo Steven MacLean and George Donnelly out on loan.
Sturrock already has several members of his squad on loan at other clubs and wants to offload MacLean and Donnelly for contrasting reasons.
Scottish forward MacLean does not appear to have a future at Home Park, while Sturrock wants youngster Donnelly to gain more first-team experience.
MacLean has not been the subject of any interest, but Sturrock hopes to send Donnelly to a League Two club after a spell in the Conference with Luton Town earlier this season.
"Steve and I have had a chat and in the end I just feel it is time for Steve to move on," Sturrock told The Herald.
"George has got an awful lot of things in his game which we are going to keep working hard on.
"I would love to get him out and get him some competitive football. I am still looking for that scenario.
"We have had two or three enquiries, so we are weighing them up now. The only reason why a move away for George hasn't happened yet, is the standard.
"A couple of Conference teams have asked for him, but I just feel I would like to pitch him in the second division (League Two)."
