Plymouth's potential saviour, businessman Kevin Heaney, has insisted negotiations to prevent liquidation at Home Park are not faltering.

Argyle, who have been deep in financial difficulties for several months, are in desperate need of a cash injection and Heaney said only the Football League stands in the way of the deal going through.

But acting chairman Peter Ridsdale and lawyer David Hinchcliffe are now said to be in talks with other interested parties - as concerns linger over Heaney's other business dealings.

"Everything the administrators have asked of us, we have done," Heaney told the Western Morning News.

"We have to wait for the Football League.

"All I'm trying to do is save Plymouth Argyle Football Club from liquidation."
