Moore missed out on Horlock

Ronnie Moore is stepping up his search for a new midfielder after failing to tempt Kevin Horlock to Oldham Athletic.

The Latics boss is anxious to add depth to his engine room and had enquired about bringing Horlock to Boundary Park.

Horlock had spent the past month on loan at Oldham's League One rivals Doncaster Rovers from Ipswich Town.

But despite interest from The Latics, Horlock opted to extend his stay at Belle Vue, leaving Moore to look elsewhere.

"I would like to do something to make sure that we have cover in midfield and I would also like to bring in a striker as well," Moore told the club's official website.

Meanwhile, Moore has confirmed that several clubs have enquired about taking wantaway defender Danny Hall on loan.

Hall, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is anxious for a move, but Moore has reiterated that he can ill-afford to let the unsettled stopper leave.

He added: "It is sod's law that if you let a player out, then all of a sudden you pick up an injury.

"Three or four clubs want to take Danny, but at this present time nobody is going anywhere."
