Clarke: On the move
Former Ipswich striker Billy Clarke looks set to become Ian Holloway's first signing as Blackpool manager.
The 21-year-old was not offered a new deal by the fellow Championship outfit after failing to break into the first team and Holloway is moved in to snap up the Irishman with a two-year offer.
The deal includes the option of a third should the move be a success and the youngster will be hoping to finally find a permanent home after successive loan spells throughout the Football League.
Five loan deals in three years with Colchester, Darlington, Northampton and Brentford and also a spell at Falkirk has made it difficult for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international to settle at Portman Road.
The arrival of compatriot Roy Keane as boss of Ipswich failed to rescue Clarke's career and he is now expected to arrive at Bloomfield Road on July 1st when his current deal officially expires.
