Jon Stead wants to wait until the end of the season before deciding whether to commit to a permanent deal at Coventry City.

The striker joined Coventry on loan last month from Ipswich Town after initially appearing to reject a move to the Ricoh Arena.

He has scored once in three appearances for the Sky Blues so far and manager Chris Coleman is keen to hang on to the 26-year-old for the long term.

However, Stead is looking to put any thoughts about his future to one side in order to concentrate on the closing two months of the Championship season.

"Things are up in the air until the end of the season," Stead told the Coventry Evening Telegraph.

"I don't want to make a decision until the end of the season because I think that's the right thing to do.

"But I want to forget about that decision for a couple of months and enjoy my football."
