Ipswich Town captain Jon Walters insists he is not planning on quitting Portman Road in the summer.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club as reports suggest several sides are considering an approach.

But Walters believes the speculation has only started since he moved house, and the former Chester player is adamant that he is not planning on leaving Ipswich.

He told the East Anglian Daily Times: "As far as I know I'll be here next season. This is my plan.

"I think these stories may have started because I'm now renting a house in the town after selling mine. But this is because a proposed purchase broke down."

Walters is determined to help his side end the season on a winning note with victory on Sunday, adding: "We're desperate for a good result against Sheffield United to give our fans something to cheer - and to sign off on a high note.

"If we can beat the Blades it will bode well for next season and will give us momentum going into pre-season training."
