Kevin Lisbie is hoping he can secure a move back to Colchester United next season following the end of his loan spell.

The striker scored 13 goals in 41 League One appearances for the Us, but has now returned to parent club Ipswich Town.

The 31-year-old faces an uncertain future at Portman Road and he is keen to be offered the chance to rejoin Colchester in the summer.

"I haven't got a clue what the future holds. I will have to wait for a call in the summer and see what happens," he told the Colchester Gazette.

"I would like to stay here, but the gaffer has got his budget so we'll have to wait and see.

"I've always had a special relationship with the Us fans. It's probably more special than the one I had at Charlton, where I had nine years.

"Even if I'm not here next season, I'll definitely come back and see the lads."
