Skysports.com understands Jon Stead's proposed move to Blackpool from Ipswich has fallen through.

As revealed by skysports.comearlier this week, Stead held talks with the Premier League new boys after they agreed a fee with Ipswich for his services.

The Tractor Boys are willing to let Stead leave and accepted an offer from Bristol City earlier this month only for the striker to snub the chance to move to Ashton Gate.

Blackpool made their move for Stead as Ian Holloway looks to bolster his attacking options after losing Billy Clarke to a long-term injury.

However, it appears talks between both parties have stalled and Stead has returned to training at Portman Road.

Blackpool could now switch their attentions elsewhere as they look to bring in new faces before the start of the Premier League season.
