Norwich are closing in on the signing of Stockport forward Oli Johnson, skysports.com understands.

The cash-strapped League One club are open to offers for their young squad and the Canaries have made their move for Johnson.

Norwich have held a long-term interest in Johnson and are believed to have tried to sign him during the last transfer window.

Carrow Road boss Paul Lambert is keen to bolster his squad as he looks to maintain their bid for promotion and he believes Johnson will give him extra options in attack.

Norwich are believed to have an undisclosed fee with the Hatters and the player has travelled to Carrow Road to undergo a medical.

If all goes to plan, Johnson could be available for Norwich's home clash with Exeter this weekend.
