Norwich chairman Alan Bowkett is waiting to discover whether they will be able to sign Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster on loan again for next season.
The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Carrow Road this term, helping the club to the League One title and an immediate return to the Championship.
Forster came second in the player of the season poll, behind captain and leading scorer Grant Holt, and City have made no secret of their desire to retain his services.
Bowkett said via a live webchat on his club's official website: "We continue to have important and friendly negotiations with Newcastle as to their decision on whether they want Fraser to play at St James' Park this coming season or not.
"Naturally here at Carrow Road we'd all love to see Fraser play for us for one more year, but I'm afraid there's very little we can do until Newcastle finalise their plans for next season. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later."
