Mifsud seals Sky Blues switch

Coventry City have completed the signing of Malta international Michael Mifsud.

The striker has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with The Sky Blues after arriving in England on a free transfer.

He had been playing in Norway for Lillestrom, and scored 11 goals in 19 league appearances last season, but opted to leave when his contract expired.

Mifsud had been linked with a move to Sheffield United, but has plumped for a deal with long-time suitors Coventry.

The Championship club are awaiting international clearance for the 25-year-old, with Sky Blues boss Micky Adams hailing his new arrival.

Adams told the club's official website: "We are delighted that Michael has opted to join us.

"There were a number of clubs interested in his signature and I believe, as well as being a proven goalscorer, he will bring more depth to the squad.

"I look forward to working with him at the club."

If his international clearance comes through in time, Mifsud could make his Coventry debut against Crystal Palace at The Ricoh Arena on Saturday.
