Skysports.com understands Fulham have made a surprise bid to sign Coventry City winger Julian Gray.

The 28-year-old joined Coventry last summer from Birmingham City and has made four appearances so far this season.

He scored the winner against Barnsley in the Championship earlier this month, but has been offered a return to the Premier League.

Gray, who is in the final year of his contract at the Ricoh Arena, is understood to have travelled to Fulham to undergo a medical.

Coventry are set to receive a nominal fee for the wide man, who will hope to agree personal terms before the transfer window closes.
