Skysports.com understands Eddie Howe has emerged as a candidate for the vacant managerial post at Coventry.

The Sky Blues are on the look-out for a new boss having dispensed with Chris Coleman's services earlier this week.

A number of names have been linked with the role and now highly-rated boss Howe has been mentioned as a contender.

Howe has done a remarkable job at Bournemouth, leading them to promotion from League Two on a shoestring budget.

The 32-year-old was linked with Peterborough United earlier in the campaign and was also mooted as a contender for the Bristol City manager's job.

Coventry are now drawing up a shortlist to replace Coleman and Howe is believed to figure high on Sky Blues chairman Ray Ranson's wanted list.

Bournemouth would be loath to lose Howe as they prepare for life in League One next season, but could face a battle to keep him at Dean Court if Coventry come calling.
