Coventry have signed striker Cody McDonald from Norwich on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Skysports.com revealed that a deal was close on Tuesday and it has now been confirmed that McDonald completed his move before the transfer deadline.

The 25-year-old scored five goals during his time at Carrow Road and made 32 appearances in all competitions, although 25 of those came as a substitute.

McDonald spent last season on loan at Gillingham and made a major impact in League Two, scoring 25 goals in 41 appearances.

However, he found himself surplus to requirements after returning to the Canaries and has now departed to the Ricoh Arena.

Coventry manager Andy Thorn told the club's official website: "Cody is an exciting player who has a proven track record. We believe that he is capable of producing at this level and we are delighted to have him on board.

"I have been looking at him for a considerable time and he was my number one choice as a recruit so I am delighted we have secured his services."

The Sky Blues' website also revealed the club had turned down deadline day offers for Lukas Jutkiewicz.
