Cerny: Could make QPR debut

Queens Park Rangers will be without captain Martin Rowlands, while Barnsley are also missing a number of players.

Iain Dowie's side are widely expected to challenge for promotion this season but Rowlands will sit out the first three games of the campaign after being sent off against West Brom in May.

Centre-back Damion Stewart is also suspended for the clash at Loftus Road, while loan signing Samuel Di Carmine serves a one-match ban carried over from playing for Fiorentina last season.

Rowan Vine is still recovering from a broken leg and Akos Buzsaky is out following ankle surgery over the summer.

Radek Cerny will battle with Lee Camp for the goalkeeper's jersey and fellow new signings Peter Ramage, Kaspars Gorkss, Lee Cook, Emmanuel Ledesma, Matteo Alberti and on-loan Real Madrid starlet Daniel Parejo could all be involved.

Barnsley trio Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Heinz Muller and Anderson De Silva will all miss the trip to London.

Winger Campbell-Ryce suffered a serious elbow injury during training and will be ruled out for at least 10 days. If he has suffered a break the Jamaica international could be sidelined for two months.

Goalkeeper Muller is three to four weeks away from a return to action following knee ligament damage sustained in January. Luke Steele will start between the posts for the Tykes.

Brazilian midfielder De Silva underwent knee surgery towards the end of last season and is also aiming for a return next month.

Manager Simon Davey is hoping to receive international clearance for Argentinian summer signing Hugo Colace and Peruvian Miguel Mostto.

Defender Darren Moore, striker Iain Hume and midfielder Mounir El Haimour could all make their competitive debuts.
