Dowie: Promotion aspirations

Queens Park Rangers have suffered an indifferent start, while Doncaster look at home in the Championship.

Rangers opened with a dramatic win against Barnsley, but the wheels spun off as they crashed 3-0 at Sheffield United last week.

Doncaster have made a bright start to life in the second tier, unbeaten in their opening two games of the season.

Skipper returns

Queens Park Rangers will welcome their captain Martin Rowlands back into the fold following a three-game ban.

Young winger Hogan Ephraim is also in the frame for a return to the side after a spell on the sidelines with shin splints.

Meanwhile, Patrick Aygemang is also in contention and will be hoping to feature in Iain Dowie's plans.

Players missing

Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll could name an unchanged side at Loftus Road as he still has a number of players missing.

Midfielder Brian Stock faces a race against time to prove his fitness after being forced to sit out Wales' friendly with Georgia in midweek with a back injury.

Defender Sean McDaid is still suffering with a dislocated kneecap he picked up at the end of last season, while Darren Byfield (hernia) and Jason Price (ankle) are also out.

Gordon Greer is still struggling with a hip injury and looks unlikely to feature, but Jos van Nieuwstadt, who did have a slight knock, played in a behind-closed-doors friendly this week and is available for selection.
