Venables: Respected by Briatore

Flavio Briatore has admitted he would like to find a role for Terry Venables at Queens Park Rangers in the future.

Venables has been away from the game since losing his job as assistant England manager last November.

Briatore has now revealed that he would like to bring the experienced coach to Loftus Road, although perhaps not until QPR have had some more success.

QPR are one of the wealthiest clubs in England and are hoping to win promotion to the Premier League this season.

They have made a solid start with two wins from their opening three matches and co-owner Briatore maintains he is happy with current boss Iain Dowie.

But he admires Venables and thinks he would be able to make a contribution to QPR in some capacity.

"I like the guy. I rate him 100 per cent," Briatore said in the Sunday Mirror.

"He has got a lot of experience, he knows about international football. He is the kind of guy we need when we are bigger.

"He is a bit big for us now. Maybe when we make the next step.

"I like the management team we have at the moment."

Reports have suggested there could be a role for Venables as a director of football at QPR.
