QPR v Carlisle preview

Hall out for QPR, Cumbrians without Dobie

Last updated: 25th August 2008

Fitz Hall is likely to miss out for Queens Park Rangers, while Carlisle's Scott Dobie is suspended.

Hall hurt an abductor muscle when he fell awkwardly during QPR's 2-0 Championship victory over Doncaster and had to be replaced by Matthew Connolly.

Fellow defender Kaspars Gorkss, who was left out of the squad on Saturday after playing for Latvia in midweek, could earn a recall.

Striker Patrick Agyemang missed out at the weekend with a groin strain and is unlikely to be risked, while Akos Buzsaky (ankle) and Rowan Vine (broken leg) are still some way from returning.

Winger Hogan Ephraim will hope to be involved after recovering from shin splints and club captain Martin Rowlands will push for a start after returning from suspension on the bench against Rovers.

Lee Camp could replace Radek Cerny in goal, having played in the first-round win at Swindon.

Carlisle news

Carlisle, unbeaten so far this season, will be without Dobie for the Carling Cup tie.

Dobie was sent off for clashing with Leyton Orient defender Brian Saah during the goalless draw between the teams at Brisbane Road at the weekend and will now miss out against Rangers.

Defender Josh Gowling, who sat out Saturday's game, is again ruled out as he recovers from a broken nose picked up in a reserve game last week and his place on the bench will be taken up by Richard Keogh, who joined the club last week from Bristol City.

The strike partnership of Danny Graham and Danny Carlton is set to continue following their four-goal haul in the opening three league games.

However, Chris Lumsdon remains sidelined with a back problem and is likely to be out for around three months, while fellow midfielder Grant Smith (thigh) failed to recover in time to feature against Orient but may return at Loftus Road.
