Bristol City defender Jamie McAllister could play against QPR after making a quick recovery from a shin injury he suffered at Crewe in midweek.
The left-back was stretchered from the field midway through the first half of the Carling Cup second-round tie at Gresty Road.
"It is better than first thought and he has got every chance of playing," said City boss Gary Johnson.
"It looked quite bad at the time and he couldn't carry on. He has got much more of a chance than we ever thought would be possible on Tuesday night."
Midfielder Marvin Elliott is set to spend four days at Lilleshall as he looks to recover from the knee injury that has blighted his season so far.
QPR will once again be without Fitz Hall when they travel to Ashton Gate.
The centre-half tore a groin muscle during Saturday's win over Doncaster and missed the 4-0 midweek mauling of Carlisle in the Carling Cup.
Matthew Connolly partnered Damion Stewart in Hall's absence, although Kaspars Gorkss is also pushing for a place.
Striker Dexter Blackstock sat out on Tuesday through illness while full-back Damien Delaney had to come off for the same reason, and both will be checked over closer to kick-off.
Midfielder Akos Buzsaky has resumed full training following his summer ankle operation and hopes to play a reserve game next week, while broken-leg victim Rowan Vine is also progressing well in his rehabilitation.
