Adebola: City equaliser
Queens Park Rangers produced a battling display after being reduced to ten men to clinch a point against Bristol City.
The game finished 1-1 after Dexter Blackstock's opener for QPR was quickly cancelled out by Dele Adebola.
Emmanuel Ledesma was then sent off early in the second half but QPR clung on to deny City all three points.
City laid siege to the QPR goal in a bid to get the winner but goalkeeper Radek Cerny was in fine form to deny Michael McIndoe and Adebola.
QPR had started the game brightly and Daniel Parejo shot wide after being found by Peter Ramage's cross.
The visitors continued to press and took the lead when Mikele Leigertwood's searching long pass found Blackstock who ghosted past Louis Carey and rounded Adriano Basso before finishing superbly.
The lead was no more than QPR deserved for their inventive play but Bristol City responded and drew level just seven minutes later.
Brian Wilson whipped in a fine ball to Adebola who evaded the static QPR defence to finish from close range.
City began to expose QPR's difficulty in dealing with the high ball and McIndoe's cross almost found Adebola again but Damion Stewart did well to deflect the ball out for a corner.
QPR looked dangerous on the break and just before half-time Blackstock broke down the right and cut the ball back for Lee Cook whose shot was saved well by Adriano Basso.
City began the second half stronger and Bradley Orr's shot was well saved by Cerny.
Minutes later Ledesma received his marching orders after picking up a second booking for a reckless lunge on Jamie McAllister.
The challenge forced McAllister to come off but City immediately set about making the numerical advantage count.
Just before the hour mark substitute Gavin Williams embarked on an industrious run which ended with his shot being saved by Cerny.
Minutes later McIndoe let fly from long range but once again Cerny was on hand to make the save.
City continued to look dangerous from wide areas and Liam Fontaine crossed for Adebola but he failed to connect properly with the shot.
QPR defended resolutely and had Cerny to thank to earning them a share of the spoils when he made a superb save to tip Adebola's header around the post in injury time.
