DJ Campbell is promising QPR fans that his performance against Wolves was just a preview of what he can achieve at the club.

The striker scored in Saturday's 3-0 win after making a return to action against Newcastle last week.

The summer signing from Blackpool had a productive season in the Premier League last year, scoring 13 goals for the Tangerines who were eventually relegated.

The result at Molineux lifted Neil Warnock's side up to ninth in the table after two wins in their opening five games.

Campbell, a boyhood QPR fan, is at his fourth club in two years having had previous spells at Leicester and Derby before moving to Bloomfield Road.

After opening his account at the weekend, the 29-year-old explained that he is looking for a constant run in the side after returning to fitness.

Illness

He told the club's official website: "Injuries are tough enough to take, but missing out due to illness is even worse.

"I felt a bit below par before the Bolton game but I played through it.

"It got really bad after that game though and I felt really weak in the days leading up to the Everton match.

"I'm nowhere near 100 per cent yet, but I'm slowly but surely feeling stronger by the day and the best is definitely yet to come from me."

QPR are yet to win or score at home, having been held to a goalless draw with Newcastle after their opening day defeat to Bolton, but Campbell is hoping that will end against Aston Villa this weekend.

He said: "I was with my family on Sunday morning and we were talking about when we used to watch Les Ferdinand bang them in for Rangers. For me to be scoring for the club I supported as a boy, in front of the QPR fans, was a dream come true.

"I'd love to replicate it with another at Loftus Road on Sunday."
