Promising young winger Max Gradel has signed a new one-year contract extension with Leicester which will keep him at the Walkers Stadium until 2012.

The 20-year-old only agreed a three-year deal at the end of last season and has been further rewarded.

The Ivory Coast-born player scored 10 goals in 34 starts for Bournemouth last term, after spending the season on loan at the South Coast club.

But he looks set to feature for Leicester on a regular basis this term after impressing new Foxes boss Nigel Pearson.

He has already featured in the Foxes' 2-0 League One opening day win over Milton Keynes Dons, as well as the Carling Cup victory over Stockport in midweek.

Done well

Pearson told the club's official website: "Max is a promising young player who has done very well for us since I arrived at the club.

"We are not getting carried away because he is a young boy and it is our job to keep his feet on the ground.

"But at the same time, we must give him the confidence and assurance that if he keeps doing well then he will play."
