Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson admits he could still launch a summer bid for on-loan striker Martyn Waghorn.

Waghorn has been a big hit at the Walkers Stadium this season and his 12 goals have propelled the Foxes into the play-offs.

The 20-year-old is set to return to parent club Sunderland once the campaign comes to an end and Black Cats boss Steve Bruce admits he wants him in the first-team squad next year.

However, Pearson says the young marksman is still very much in his plans although he would not be drawn on any potential offer.

"It is a loan deal until the end of the season - however long that is for us. Then after that who knows?" he said.

"I don't want to rule anything out but, at this moment in time, I don't want to spend any time talking about it either.

"There is no point talking about it now as we are not there yet.

"There will be a time to address the situation but that time is not now because we have what we hope will be three more games to play this season."

Leicester take on Cardiff at home on Sunday for the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final.
