Stelios: Talking to Tigers

Phil Brown has confirmed Hull City are holding talks with former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stelios Giannakapoulos.

The Greece international is a free agent after being released by Bolton at the end of last season and has yet to secure a new club.

He was linked with a move to Hull over the summer, having worked with Tigers boss Brown during his time at Bolton.

Stelios watched Sunday's 2-2 draw with Everton and Brown is now hoping to agree a deal with the 34-year-old.

No-lose situation

"We're currently talking to Stelios," Brown told the club's official website.

"That's with regards to maybe a contract until the end of the season or possibly until the January transfer window. He has an ambition to play in the World Cup for Greece and he's without a club at the moment

"If we can convince him to sign for us, it will be a no-lose situation for us. He has been a right-sided player and I know him very well.

"I don't know how long Craig Fagan will take to come back, so to add another player at this stage when the transfer window is closed is a bonus."
