Brown: Still has concerns

Phil Brown has admitted he is worried about whether Hull will be able to maintain their fine start to the season.

The Tigers were widely tipped for relegation over the summer but they have been in excellent form in their opening seven Premier League games.

They are third in the table with 14 points and Brown insists his side will have proved the critics wrong regardless of what happens over the coming months.

Brown is nevertheless keen for Hull to push on and spring more surprises, although he accepts there are likely to be some difficult times ahead.

"Of course, you always worry about it going t*ts up," he said in The Sun.

"Then again, there was no expectation of us doing anything this season.

"We were the no-hopers just up for a brief visit. A magical mystery tour to Old Trafford, the Emirates and Anfield and then back to where we belonged.

"Now they say we've caught six out of seven sides at just the right time. Long may it continue."

Ramos backing

Hull's latest success came at White Hart Lane on Sunday as they heaped more pressure on Tottenham boss Juande Ramos with a 1-0 win.

Brown, who was sacked by Derby in 2006, feels for the Spaniard and hopes he can hold onto his job.

He explained: "Management is a brotherhood. I hate it when managers are out of work. It's soul-destroying.

"And I hate it when managers are under as much pressure as Tottenham's Juande Ramos.

"You could really feel the intensity at White Hart Lane last weekend."
