Duffen: Happy with squad

Chairman Paul Duffen has revealed that Hull may not bring in new players when the transfer window reopens.

Phil Brown made several signings over the summer and the Tigers have made a superb start to their first-ever Premier League campaign.

They are currently third in the table and Duffen believes that having a balanced squad has been one of the keys to their success.

He feels that a major overhaul in January could prove disruptive and has hinted that Hull are unlikely to do much business.

"I don't see why when January comes around people assume you have to look to strengthen your squad," Duffen told the Hull Daily Mail.

"I don't believe we have to look to bring in players just because the laws of the game dictate that is when the window opens."

Delighted

Duffen has been delighted with the way Hull's new players have integrated with the established squad members.

He explained: "I believe a major element of our success is because we have a good mix of players.

"In the side that played at Tottenham and Arsenal we had five lads who have been with the club for a long time.

"Two players had been with us for three years and three had been with the club five years.

"They have blended excellently with the new signings of international quality players and I think as a squad we now have wonderful balance."
