Simpson: Could move to Hull
Arsenal striker Jay Simpson is reportedly close to securing a loan switch to Championship side Hull City.
The 21-year-old forward has been the subject of interest from a number of second-tier clubs, with Bristol City and Leeds also thought to be chasing his signature.
But Leon Callender, owner of Straight Ace Sports Management, the company which looks after Simpson, says the Tigers are his preferred choice.
He told the Hull Daily Mail: "Should the two clubs come to an agreement on a deal, I can't see there being any problem in the deal going through. Jay is very interested in a move to Hull.
"He sees Hull as a good Championship club and feels it would be a good move for him.
"He travelled up to Hull last week for a look around and has spoken to the gaffer. Now it is just down to the clubs to agree a deal.
"Hull are trying to structure a deal with Arsenal and have put an offer in for a deal.
"They are now working on that but as far as I know it isn't dependent on the club getting any players out of the door, as that would be unpredictable.
"They are looking at a structured deal related to both how Hull do as a side and how Jay does in terms of his own performances after the move.
"Jay hasn't made a final decision but Hull are certainly in his mind."
Simpson could make the switch to the KC Stadium before Saturday's clash with Watford, and he might be joined by Cardiff forward Ross McCormack.
McCormack, 23, has already agreed personal terms with Hull on a permanent deal, but any move will depend on Daniel Cousin agreeing to go the other way.
