A host of League One clubs are tracking Doncaster striker Paul Heffernan, skysports.com understands.

Heffernan's future at the Keepmoat Stadium is in doubt with the player dropping down the pecking order in Sean O'Driscoll's plans.

The Irishman has not figured in Rovers' three Championship games so far this season with his only appearance coming in the Carling Cup.

Heffernan's position at Doncaster has alerted a number of clubs with the likes of Leeds, Huddersfield, Oldham and MK Dons all thought to be keeping tabs on the forward.

The 26-year-old has proven himself to be a prolific goalscorer in League One football and he is attractive proposition for clubs looking to win promotion to the Championship.
